Cool Acrid Herbs that Release the Exterior

Which two herbs are often used together because they both have a specialty of brightening the eyes; for such symptoms as red, sore, dry, or painful eyes?

Eye problems can be caused by (1) wind-heat, (2) Liver heat and Liver yang rising, and (3) yin/blood deficiency. Sang Ye and Ju Hua treat eye problems due to all three causes. Chan Tui and Bo He brighten they eyes, but only during wind-heat invasion. Mu Zei brightens the eyes, but only for wind-heat and Liver heat.
