Point Categories 1
1/12
Which of the five shu-transport points is the most superficial, meaning it can have a quick effect when needled and can also treat the opposite end of the channel?
Jing-Well points are the first (or last) points on their channel. At this point, the channel is narrow and superficial, and the channel is changing polarity from yin to yang (or yang to yin). So needling these points can have a quick, dramatic effect in clearing excess. They also treat the upper end of the channel (e.g. disorders of the face)
