Herbs that Clear Heat
1/15
A 38-year-old male complains of acute diarrhea after attending a chili cook-off last weekend. He ate five-alarm chili with cheese and sour cream and drank beer. He now reports sticky, sloppy diarrhea that burns the anus upon defecation. His pulse is rapid, forceful, and slippery; his tongue is red with a greasy, yellow coat. You believe his diarrhea is due to damp-heat. What herb would you use to clear heat and dry dampness?
Huang Qin clears damp-heat from the Stomach and intestines (diarrhea) and from the lower jiao (painful urinary dribbling).
